How it works
Three steps lead from your first sentence to the practice conversation. Between them lies a single confirmation by mail.
-
Describe your request
On the start page a chatbot asks: which conversation, with whom, what it should be about. It stays with you until the topic is clear, which usually takes three to five answers. Then you add your name and your university address. Addresses at uni-bayreuth.de and myubt.de are accepted.
-
Confirm your address
You receive a mail with a confirmation link. The link is valid for 72 hours and for one single click. Nothing is created before you click it. A status page then opens that shows the state of your request and updates itself.
-
Practise
As soon as the scenario is ready, a second mail arrives with the access details and a direct link that signs you in without a login ID and password. Test access carries 30 minutes of practice time. Login ID and password are included in the same mail as a second route. The login ID is an identifier of the form testaccount-xxxxxxxx, not a mail address. The practice conversation itself takes place in the application at zhl-ubt-avatar.de. This site serves to request test access. The illustrated guide for participants walks through every step; the guides are written in German.
How long it takes
Building a scenario takes a few minutes. When many requests arrive at the same time, the status page shows your position and an estimated time. On days with very many requests your wish stays saved and is taken up the next morning. Nothing is lost along the way.
What the tool cannot do today
- Every automatically generated scenario is a first draft for getting to know the tool. The test access is an ordinary user account without editing rights. If you want to develop the prompts further, you receive a prompt studio login on request (how that works).
- The evaluation is practice feedback. It is no examination result and it replaces no feedback from people.
- The chatbot in the pre-chat settles the design of the scenario and its topic. The editor inside the application also takes your own documents and asks far more precise questions about the details.
- The faces and voices belong to colleagues at the university. Your own faces cannot be uploaded here.
